The Devil You Know, Jahleel Hoskins and Latrice Maze

Latrice Maze
In season three, episode 23, we see The Devil You Know, the true story of the murder of Latrice Maze by Jahleel Hoskins  and the love story of Jahleel Hoskins and Latrice Maze which doesn't end well for Latrice .

This show is described as Latrice goes missing uncovering a terrifying truth..The motive was that Latrice was cooperating with the police after Hoskins assaulted the father of two of her children. He was furious with her for doing so. During sentencing, he threw the podium and had to be restrained (see video below). Additionally bailiffs had to seperate both families who also started fighting.

Jahleel Hoskins was sentenced to 50 to 100 years and is eligible for release between 01/05/2064 and 01/04/2115.

His appeal (see link) includes:

defendant initiated a confrontation with the victim, Kenneth Harris, at a nightclub, and then stabbed the victim with a box cutter outside the club.  The victim received treatment for five stab wounds to his chest, arm, and back.  In statements under oath to police in connection with an investigative subpoena,1 defendant denied being at the club on the night in question and denied having any sort of altercation with the victim.      Defendant asserts that he is entitled to a new trial because the trial court declined to instruct the jury on felonious assault as an alternative to the charged AGBH offense.  We review legal questions surrounding a claim of instructional error de novo, but we review for an abuse of discretion a trial court’s determination that a jury instruction did not apply to the facts of the case.  People v Dupree, 486 Mich 693, 702; 788 NW2d 399 (2010).

Take Away

If you are going to have children, you must equip them for life. Clearly this man has no problem resolution skills. He beat up one man over conflict and killed another who helped police. Beware of adults who are basically toddlers in adult bodies.
