Tarence Mitchell. This story ends badly for Ronald Taylor Jr.
This is a controversial story for this show, and I don't know that I agree it should have been featured on her. I'm not convinced that Tarence was in a relationship with this man. Abusers have a funny way of getting in your head and making you think you want something you don't. To me, this is a story of sexual and child abuse.
Tarence Mitchell was sentenced to 12
years, with the possibility of parole on 04/15/26.
The show is described as A brutal stabbing attack leaves one dead and an investigation leads to secrets, sex and control. Ronald was pressuring Tarence to continue having a sexual relationship with only him and to leave girls alone. He threatened to expose him to the community via social media. He was a very young adult at the time. There's no shame in being gay, but it is not easy to come out in small town America, point, blank, period.

Lessons
This is a great story for learning don't judge other people, what they do, and why they do it. I don't believe this was a stone cold murder. I think it was an act of desperation. Taylor's family likely does not believe that, but that is their truth. Allow others to live their life and mind your own business.
TJ's story touched me so much. A documentary was made about him in France and his story touched me, he deserves to know happiness when he gets out of prison. I would love to meet him or get in touch with him, he's cute and seems sincere. I send him a lot of love and support from France.

ReplyDeleteI feel that the older man seduced Tarance but Tarance was wrong to kill him. I am glad that he will be out in about five years from now. Its so sad that this young man who had so much promise ended up throwing much of his life away due to fear of being exposed as a homosexual.
ReplyDeleteIt's a very sad and riveting story that keeps your attention. It is my prayer that upon his return to society he will do great things. No child deserves to be taken advantage in this manner. It appears Mr. Taylor got what he deserved.

DeleteI was livid with this outcome of this case ,Tarence Mitchell should have got no time for this murder, Ronald Taylor was a predator and he got what he deserved he is right where he needs to be in the deepest pits of Hell I hope. I believe Tarence will come home and do great things with his life, because what happened to him was just awful.

DeleteThis is a sad story on both sides!! And, I pray for both families that they may find some kind of peace in all of this!! I agree that Noone had the right to take another person's life for any reason!! They had been lovers for two years!! My question is if Ronald hadn't threatened to oust Terrance. Would he have continued to sleep with him? Terrance lied about the incident from the beginning and then tried to make it look like he was only defending himself. But, after he said he chased him down. To me that changes the claim of self defense. Because he had an opportunity to call for help and maybe save Ronalds life!! Then he put it on two black guys. I think it was premeditated. But, I feel Ronald was a predator of young men and if Terrance would have told someone that he can trust about how he felt he was seduced bye, Ronald. This whole murder could have been prevented and Ronald could be serving time for his wrong doing in pursuing young men for his own sexual preference!! I pray that Terrance finds success in life after he is released and be an spokesperson for those who are going through the same thing!! My heart goes out to him. If you are reading this and going through similar situation. Speak up and out!! We must protect our young boys from such men!!
DeleteI totally agree! He got just what he deserved. I guarantee you Taylor was ruining many lives…TJ ended it for himself and probably countless others. I’m willing to be he slept with them after getting them drunk or high…and then used the encounters to control them
DeleteThis is such a sad story. My heart goes out to both families. By what appears to be all accounts, Tarence was put in a position that caused him to do something he didn't wanna do. Sabotage is a very real thing; and no one deserves to be treated this way. I wish people would let folks do them. It is no ones business how one lives their life. Homophobia is a huge factor in this story.....and it shouldn't be. Every one needs encouragement and I plan to reach out yo Tarence.
ReplyDeleteWhen Tarence dropped his head upon learning Taylor is dead, broke my heart. I saw a young man who was caught up in a situation he didn't deserve. He was wounded. He didn't deserve this.
ReplyDeleteI do not know why? What? I think it was a tragedy when anyone gets killed but let me say if an adult is having sex with a child they are a predator. I don’t care if it male on male, female on female, male on female, or female on male. If you are an adult and you having sex with a child you are a predator. Also I do believe if a female child had been in the same situation with a male adult and the same thing occurred more people would understand and show sympathy for a female in those same circumstances. It is sad and my thoughts and prayers for repentance, healing, comforting, and strength for all who are impacted.
ReplyDeleteI have seen several stories about this crime. I have attempted to locate TJ’s relatives to offer my condolences. From a person who has been sexually abused, I can tell you right now that Taylor’s family knew what he was all about. I am willing to bet there are other young victims in that community who are afraid to talk because of the stigma it would place on their lives. Taylor was a predator, plain and simple. I don’t think TJ deserved any time. Taylor had already destroyed his life and his spirit.

DeleteI went to high school with TJ. As my upperclassmen, I automatically showed him my respect. Learning later on before he was to graduate about what transpired in his personal life is brutal.. that's just something only God can judge. The fear and anger he felt everyday.. all bunched up. He may have risked his future but he also got rid of an anomaly amongst the society I grew up in. I can only imagine any others that were in fear of such events. Taylor's family knew what the fuck went on and Terrence did what was right. He was young and vulnerable, Taylor was an adult and a problem to the young scholars' plans of living his best life. You don't run from your fears, you fight them and in this case Terrence fought and won. He apologized for killing Taylor but an apology was never truly needed. Ronald Taylor deserved more than death.. and no one likes liars so his family can and should live with the fact that their Ronald was a threat to society. No way around it, don't defend or fight for a predator, family or not. He made his choice and paid with his life, you can't defend that. He did it to himself.

DeleteHe was stabbed prior to this incident, by a teen boy, guaranteed it wasn't to steal his weed, as they said on the show #killerpost, but most likely because he is a pedophile and either raped or attempted to rape the first kid who stabbed him, unfortunately he survived the first stabbing, allowing him to continue being an obsessed pedophile.!!

ReplyDeleteI have this episode recorded on my DVR. I watch it often. I hurts me that Terance was even sentenced to prison time. Tears fell knowing that he wouldn't be able to no longer play football or graduate with his teammates and classmates. Praying that this young man gets released early so that he can live his life.
