In season three, episode 30, we see Sin for the Son, the true story of the murder of Lucita Charles by  Patrick Kirk Barrett. and the love story of Patrick Kirk Barrett and Lucita Charles which doesn't end well for Lucita Charles .

This show is described as a strong-willed Caribbean mother fights for a better life for her sick son, but after moving to Toronto, a horrible crime happens. He beat her to death after she informed him if she was pregnant she would have an abortion. He confessed to the murder to police.

Patrick Kirk Barrett was sentenced to 15 years to life and is eligible for release until after he serves at least fifteen years. Canada does not provide for inmate search.
