Murder in Niagara, Robert Johnson and Ahkenya Johnson

Robert Johnson
In season two, Murder in Niagara is about the murder of Ahkenya Johnson by Robert Johnson in the state of New York. The love story of Robert Johnson and Ahkenya Johnson does not end well for Ahkenya Johnson. The only motive seemed to be rage and hate for her.
Ahkenya Johnson

Robert Johnson was sentenced to 25 years to life. This episode is described as The body of a mother of two is found by her husband; she had been stabbed 49 times and nearly decapitated. Robert is forbidden from having contact with this two children.

According to the Niagara Gazette, “(Robert Johnson) cut (his wife’s) throat from ear to ear,” Baehre said, “Then he savagely plunged a knife, 49 times, into her body. The words that popped out at that trial were hate and rage.”

Baehre called the slaying “one of the most brutal and vicious” murders she has seen in more than a decade as a prosecutor.

  2. Me and my family just saw the story about Robert Johnson and Ahkenya. We are all reasonable thinking people and we believe there is no way Mr. Johnson should have been found guilty of his wife's murder. The prosecutors want us to believe that Robert became enraged after learning about his wife's affair that he killed her. The fact is that Robert was also having an affair and planned to marry the lady he was seeing. The prosecution provides no evidence of prior rage. The prosecutions whole case was based on theory and very weak DNA evidence. Mr. Johnson embraced his wife when he found her dead and he did have blood on his person. The prosecution used that fact against him and they further stated that their was DNA in the downstairs sink of their house which they said had Mr. Johnson's DNA proved further evidence. There are a lot of reasons that DNA from Mr. Johnson could be in a sink. In addition, a jail house witness came forward after the trial and said that a guy he was incarcerated with confessed to him that he killed Ahkenya. Is it a coincidence that the inmate in question was one of the people involved in a home invasion at the Johnson residence 3 months prior to the murder. This case and the evidence used to convict Mr. Johnson was a joke. There was nothing presented in this story that showed that Mr. Johnson would have had a propensity to commit murder of his wife. I am really sorry that Ahkenya died but this is a classic case of where black males are in jail based on very very weak cases with a predominantly white jury. There is no way Mr. Johnson should be in jail and I hope he maintains his faith. I really hope the "innocent project" or Kim Kardashian reviews this case and decide to take it on and Mr. Johnson gets millions for wrongful imprisonment.
