Lethal Weapon is the story of the murder of Shari Bethel by Deon Cartmell and the love story of Deon Cartmell and Shari Bethel. Neither of these true stories turns out well for Shari.

Deon Cartmell is convicted of 2nd degree murder and sentenced to 18 years . They were at home "dry firing" guns while cooking dinner when he took one gun back, loaded it and went to the bedroom to get another gun when he heard a gunshot. He had been caught texting other women though he claimed they only argued about money.

TV One describes this episode in Season five as Hospital worker Shari is found dead at home by a gunshot wound to the face and detectives investigate the cause of her death..
