Deadly Divorce is the story of the murder of Jamil Phillips by Tavarious Settles and the love story of
Tavarious Settles, Dale Phillips Jr and Karlita Phillips. Neither of these true stories turns out well for Jamil Phillips.

Tavarious Settles is plead to  and sentenced to 45 years . He is eligible for parole on June 3, 2053.
Karlita Phillips is convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison. She is not eligible for release.

TV One describes this episode in Season five as A marriage's chance at restoration is destroyed when the husband's younger brother is found dead on his family's front porch..

Opinion

Teach your sons that women can be just as nefarious as men, if not more. This much older married woman saw him coming from a mile away and used sex and flattery to convince him to do this. Watch out for your sons! Teach all your kids that not everyone is a good person or has good in them. That is simply not true!
