In season three, episode 7, we see The Boy Is Mine, the true story of the murder of Curtisha by KalilaTaylor. and the love story of Carl Brown and Curtisha Morning which doesn't end well for Curtisha.

This show is described as Curtisha vanishes into thin air after finding love with Carl; a dark secret may prove to be the motive for murder.

These girls had been friends, close friends for some time. Carl Brown had dated Kalila first and the two shared a child, Carl Brown Jr. After they were broken up, he dated Curtisha. Kalila and Carl had been apart for some time. There was overwhelming DNA evidence found indicating her guilt. Her family insists she is innocent and her path to justice is long and twisted. She was deemed too mentally ill to stand trial at one point and won an appeal based on faulty jury instructions. Kalila was convicted at her second trial. 

Kalila Taylor was sentenced to 25 to life and is eligible for release 2037.

While you are certainly free to date whoever you like, at the very least it's messy to date a friend's ex. People do tend to have the expectation that it's wrong to date the ex, especially of a close friend. Romantic partners tend to come and go, but friendship remains. It's highly unlikely a romantic relationship would be worth the loss of a friend.

    I'm sorry this is wrong to say that. It's not okay to kill someone because they dated your ex-boyfriend. And it sounds like the ex-boyfriend didn't want to date Kalila anymore. Sometimes we have to accept that the person we love, no longer cares about us. That is part of growing up. And how do you even know that Kalila and Curtisha were good friends? A decent person would be able to move on with their life in spite of being dumped.

      Exactly. Their mothers were friends, the girls may not have been that close and he and Kalila had been over for almost a year.

    I think Kalila is as guilty as one can be. She and her family think all evidence against Kalila was "manufactured," but looks real to everyone else. Also, no one else had a motive, but Kalila had a large motive. (Her friend dating her baby's daddy) Oh, the delusions she experienced were likely "drummed up" to create a defense. However, why would she need a mental defense if she was innocent as her family maintains?

    Whatever way you look at this, it is tragic. A beautiful young woman is murdered and has left a number of families devastated. Murder is never ok so to say Curtisha crossed a line by dating her friend's ex is not ok. As I say it is a tragedy.

    I was a student at Riverhead Middle School when Curtisha was murdered. Some things never sat right with me about this case. From my English classroom I watched out the window as police formed a human chain and walked back and forth over the area where her body was found. She went missing on a short walk from the high school to a vocational training program off school grounds called BOCES. She went missing in the middle of the day, while I was in English class. I was interviewed by police because I sat by the window that overlooked the path she took to get to BOCES. For 5 weeks Curtisha was missing and then they found her body in a very, very small slightly wooded area/path. And police said her body had been there all along. I watched them climb the area and I walked that area many times as the middle school track team practiced at the high school track and the whole team crossed that path for practice. I’ve always had trouble believing that her body was there for 5 weeks before a man walking his dog found her,
